CENTRAL EUROPE Filmwettbewerb - 2nd Award for CREATIVE CITIES  
 

The film by Leipzig filmmaker Alina Cyranek achieved the 2nd award with 208 votes during the Facebook competition. The nominated film is one of sevens creative film portraits that are realized with the help of CREATIVE CITIES project.

CENTRAL EUROPE project CREATIVE CITIES published brochure From Creative City to Creative District - Guidelines from five European cities

The impulses, conclusions as well as strategies concerning creative district and urban development in the five Central European cities Gdańsk (PL), Genoa (IT), Ljubljana (SI), Leipzig (DE) and Pécs (HU) were presented during press conference and final meeting of project in April 2013 in Pécs (HU). 27. - 30. May 2013 - CYCLECITIES /Central MeetBike: Project Meeting and 3rd Central German Cycling Conference in Leipzig/Germany

The joint partner meeting of the EU projects CYCLECITIES (INTERREG IVC) and Central MeetBike (Central Europe) as well as the 3rd Central German Cycling Conference take place in Leipzig/Germany from 27 till 30 May 2013. Cycle traffic experts of both EU projects from Poland, Slovenia, UK, Greece, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy and Germany will have the opportunity to exchange and discuss experiences, best-practices and project aims. Furthermore the project partners will learn about the way Leipzig handles cycling in its city. Another object of the joint meeting is to expand the network of European cycle traffic experts and develop new project ideas.

The results of this meeting will be presented and further developed in a workshop at the 3rd Central German Cycling Conference from 29 till 30 May 2013 at “Villa Rosental” in Leipzig. 16. - 18. May 2013 - 9th Partner Meeting and Public Conference in Klaipeda

The partners of the BALTIC SEA REGION-project URBAN CREATIVE POLES will get together for the 9th time. At the partner meeting in Klaipeda they will discuss the finalization of the pilot project as well as the elaboration of guidelines to foster creative industries.

Additionally there will be a public conference on May 17 where open strategies of the innovation management and potentials of creative industries will be presented and discussed under the title “Personality, Space and Creative Technologies in a Viable City“.

The project event is embedded in the cultural festival of the City of Klaipeda “IKRA Week”.

16. & 17. May 2013 - SECOND CHANCE Transnational Peer Review RogLab, Ljubljana (SI)

From May 16th to May 17th 2013, partners from every partner city participate in the so-called peer review meeting in Slovenian capital Ljubljana with aim to check results of the pilot project investment – the ROGLAB -, define strengths and weaknesses of this utilization concept and elaborate an adjusted one.



The CENTRAL EUROPE project SECOND CHANCE (2010-2013) aims the revitalization of brownfields in Nuremberg (DE), Leipzig (DE), Venice (IT), Krakow (PL) and Ljubljana (SI) and promotes their development. Further information www.secondchanceproject.eu and www.roglab.si

09. April 2013 - CREATIVE CITIES: Final International Meeting in Pécs (HU) with topic “results and sustainability”

April 09, 2013 partners from every partner city participated in final meeting in Pécs (HU) with aim to present results and aspects of sustainability during press conference: Within three years project lifetime every partner city developed or professionalized tools and activities in the field of economic promotion, cluster institutionalization and urban development – so-called contact point creative industries were established, marketing concepts prepared and realized as well as guidelines for creative district development elaborated.
