Aufbauwerk promotes regional development projects beyond the territories of its shareholders. It is active in the entire Central German space that reaches from the Ore Mountains to Lusatia, from Thuringia to Brandenburg.

As all areas of Eastern Germany, the territory is subject to structural, economic and demographic changes, leading to a number of challenges for the promotion of economic development, the amelioration of the environmental situation and for social affaires.
